I looking for some advice regarding my seamaster automatic. I got it back in June, 2nd hand, it came with all the stamped warranty cards, the box and the original receit, dated 2011. The condition was very good, with only minor scraches on the bracelet. The timepiece was worn daily for a number of years and then put away about 15 years ago. Looking at it recently, I have found that I was unable to get the mainspring wound up. A local watchmaker has offered to repair it for 250.00 dollars. I really don't want to spend that much to get it fixed. I bought an Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Omega Master Co-Axial 38.5 MM steel with a gray face about two years ago. I painstakingly searched for this watched for months, and bought based on my family's history of Omega ownership. It just stopped working! I wear everyday, wind it, and take care of it. While waiting for the replacement mainspring to arrive, I set about cleaning the case and bracelet. I had wanted to remove the bezel to see why it wasn’t moving but it turns out Seamaster bezels require a special tool to remove them.
I have an Omega Seamaster 300M S/G, model 2332.80.00. So far this year I have broken three stems while winding it. I try to be gentle, but when it happens I usually suddenly feel a brief catch and the crown and the stem, which breaks at the shoulder, comes off in my hand.
