I took a size 39.5 consistently in my two pairs of Princetown loafers, and I am a 39.5 in the Brixton as well. I vary between a 39 and 40 in most brands, and having tried those sizes too, 39 was way too small, and 40 was too big, so the 39.5 is perfect.
