I plan to build an I2C controllable LED driver so I can reuse the driver in a single LED flashlight in the future. The XHP70.2 performs much better than all other tested LEDs here. The overcurrent capabilities are better and the light flux maximum is at over 20 amps – the maximum range of my power supply. Moreover, the Vf is a lot lower than that of the other emitters, which improves the efficiency (lm/W) a lot.

However when powered up, the system does not illuminate the LED's. They very dimly flicker at about 20-30hz.
